Re; Beeson/Hill/Gurney
I just realised I had posted previously to this site under user name Dsharon. My apologies for the confusion. I have just found that my James Beeson (born I think Little Kingshill) married Caroline Hill in 1833 at Northchurch, Hertford. They had one daughter, Emma, who I think married John GURNEY.Nov. 1852 at Bovingdon.

My Job Beeson, born probably Little Missenden, was also living at Bovingdon on the `1841 census, transcribed as "Jet" Beeson.

Beesons in Chenies
I have done quite a bit of research into our Beeson family tree and paid a visit to Chenies in January 2007. It is a lovely place and I would love to contact any beeson still living in the area. I also found out that the church at Chenies has a website which gives access to marriage records as far back as 1838. It is www.chenieschurch.cwc.net They also have a booklet about the church which you can buy in the church. In it there is mention that, on the tenor bell in the tower, there are inscribed four names one of which is " William Beeson clark" Anyone want to swap info on Beesons from Chenies?

Shillingfords of Dominica
I am the grandaughter of Thomas Howard Shillingford. My grandfather was a planter and businessman. His largest shop in the 1900's was in the village of Colihaut where he had one son and three daughters among his other many children. One of the daughters was my mother. Contrary to what Dawn stated in her piece, he did not bequeath all his properties to the mothers of his children. Most of the property was bequeathed to some of his children whose names are mentioned in his will. I know all my uncles and aunts, most of whom have passed on. I too am trying to find the British connection of the Shillingford side of my family.

Seeking relatives of Jack Edward Beeson ...
Memorial service to be held in Lesges ( Saturday June 24th 2006 ) to remember the crew of the Halifax 111 MZ679 MP-C shot down by night fighters over Lesges in 1944 and whose graves they have looked after all these years.
