Shillingfords of Dominica
I am the grandaughter of Thomas Howard Shillingford. My grandfather was a planter and businessman. His largest shop in the 1900's was in the village of Colihaut where he had one son and three daughters among his other many children. One of the daughters was my mother. Contrary to what Dawn stated in her piece, he did not bequeath all his properties to the mothers of his children. Most of the property was bequeathed to some of his children whose names are mentioned in his will. I know all my uncles and aunts, most of whom have passed on. I too am trying to find the British connection of the Shillingford side of my family.
